Franklin FFA teams place at statewide CDE competition

FRANKLIN — Franklin Senior High School’s FFA Chapter competed in the Louisiana FFA State Land Judging Career Development Event (CDE) on Nov. 7 at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s Alexandria District Office in Woodworth with teams placing sixth and eighth overall out of 53 teams at the competition.

Franklin team members included Cameron Bertrand, Madison Boudreaux, Noel Guillotte, Dalen LeBlanc, Tyler LeBlanc, Matthew Phillips, and Caleb Willis.

The sixth placed team was only 6 points shy of qualifying for the National Land Judging Competition in Oklahoma.

In addition to team success, Caleb Willis was recognized as having the highest individual score in the entire competition with a score of 286 out of 300 possible points.
