PIERCING THOUGHTS: Feedback to changes are so welcome, appreciated

By now most all of you have probably noticed last Sunday we implemented changes to the look and feel of your newspaper. We had three goals. First, we wanted to make the look of the paper clean, new and modern. Second, we wanted to add more local content. And not just content that we think you want but content you’ve been telling us you want. Third, we wanted to add to the ways we present the news to you to make it fresh and inviting.

Your response has been overwhelmingly positive. Yes Oliver, Helen, Phyllis, Lisa, Mary, David, John, Charlie and so many others, I have spoken with you or read all of your notes and recommendations — and I appreciate the feedback. You have been very encouraging and made some very good suggestions. It doesn’t go unnoticed when someone takes the time to share opinions with us; our goal is to keep our customers satisfied and, after 125 years, we still focus on that every day. The Daily Iberian prides itself in being more than a local news source, and we want to assure our readers we are actively working every day to ensure your satisfaction in all aspects of our products.

In the coming weeks we will have all hands on deck tweaking and improving the changes we’ve made, and I want to encourage you to continue sharing advice and opinions with me. It is wonderful to hear that you like the new look and feel of your newspaper, and it is even more wonderful to hear how we can make it even better.

I’ve learned a few things through this process of change. First, healthy debate is a very good thing. When there are strong opinions on different sides of a decision, there is most likely a compromise that makes the end decision even stronger. Second, I am reminded that my most concerned customers are my greatest source of learning.

Thank you for being a loyal Daily Iberian reader, thank you for your support and recommendations and, most importantly, thank you for caring about your newspaper. We know without a doubt that an informed community is a stronger community. Our mission remains the same — to strengthen the Teche Area by informing, connecting, and celebrating the community. We sincerely hope you continue to enjoy the changes and we are looking forward to any feedback you would like to share with us.
