FRANKLIN — The Franklin Police Department made an arrest in connection to the Oct. 23 homicide that killed a 16-year-old boy on Augustine Maze Road two years ago. 

Raquel Matthews, 26, of Franklin, was arrested 5:50 p.m. Friday on the charge of accessory after the fact to first degree murder. Matthews was booked, processed and taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. 

The Franklin Police Department received information in regards to evidence that was disposed of at the time of the incident, which took place in October of 2016 After further investigation, it was discovered that Matthews allegedly disposed of the evidence. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
