Anthony “Butch” Harris

FOUR CORNERS — Funeral services for Anthony “Butch” Harris, 63, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at St. John Baptist Church, 1244 Big Four Corners Road, Jeanerette, (Four Corners). Rev. David Jones and Pastor Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander will officiate over the services.

Butch, as he was affectionately called, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018, in Jeanerette.

Anthony was born March 26, 1955, to the union of the late Lester Harris Sr. and Alberta Robinson Harris in Lafayette. 

He attended the schools of St. Mary Parish. He was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church by the late Rev. Aaron Marks. 

Butch leaves to cherish many wonderful memories with three children Anthony Ayro and his companion Shanicia, both of Thibodaux, Tony Penns of Jeanerette and Marjorie Penns of Franklin; eight siblings Cressia Toussaint, Rickey Simpson and Maxine Harris-Edwards, all of Jeanerette, Bernard Harris and Deborah Harris, both of Four Corners, Theresa Harris-Archangel of New Iberia, Lusty Harris Sr. of Sorrell and Christopher (Clarissa) Landrio Sr. of Little Elm, Texas; two foster sisters Dorothy Jones of Baldwin and Dennistine (Wilton) Landry of Washington; 11 grandchildren; his aunts and uncles Josephine Robinson of San Francisco, California, Elnora (Darrell Sr.) Colbert, Leona Wiley-Jackson and Joseph (Yolanda) Bourgeois, all of Four Corners and Shirley Feast of Jeanerette; and four godchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Anthony Penns; two siblings James Harris and Brenda Harris; a nephew Kenda Harris; and his grandparents, Moses Harris, Ida Jackson, Charlie Robinson and Leona Robinson.
