A New Iberia man is being held in the Iberia Parish Jail, accused of robbing a local Food N Fun convenience store on Dec. 5.

According to an IPSO spokesman, Reggie Smith, 38, entered the store on S. Lewis Street shortly before 4 a.m. on Dec. 5 and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. The spokesman said Smith forced the clerk to open the register , then removed all the cash and change before fleeing on foot. Investigators arrested Smith Thursday and booked him into the Iberia Parish Jail. 

No bond has been set at this time.
