Memorial services celebrating the life of Yvette Cormier will be held in the Chapel of Louisiana Funeral Services and Crematory, 108 Hardware Road, in Broussard.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Dr. Sidney Mitchell.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
Yvette Ann Bienvenue Cormier was born on May 12, 1964, in Lafayette. She was a native and resident of New Iberia. Yvette passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Iberia Manor North in New Iberia.
Yvette was a faithful member of Agape Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. She was an employee of the Houstonian Hotel until her health began to fail. Yvette graduated from Iberia Senior High School in 1982. Reading was her passion and she also enjoyed listening to old school music. While staying at New Iberia Manor North she frequently joined the birthday socials and the bingo games.
Yvette leaves to cherish her memory, three brothers James Bienvenue of Patterson, Wilson (Elsie) Youman Jr. of Lafayette and David (Viola) Youman Sr. of St. Martinville; two uncles Adam Pierre Jr. of St. Martinville and Shelton Wiltz of Beaumont, Texas and a special son who she reared like her own child, Chris Cormier.
Yvette now reunites in her heavenly home with her parents Jules and Louella Bienvenue; her birth mother, Florence P. Youman; brother Donald Ray Youman; and her former husband Douglas Cormier.
