The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in finding a man they say shot another man to death Friday evening on L. Theriot Road.
According to an IPSO spokesman, Kristian R. Broussard is wanted on a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Richard Southern, 38.
Deputies say Broussard should be considered armed and dangerous.
Broussard is reported to have fled the area in a green 2000 Chevrolet Impala bearing the Louisiana license plate 957ARY with two women in the car.
According to a spokesman, the IPSO was notified of a shooting at a residence in the 4200 block of L. Theriot Road shortly after 8 p.m. Friday. Deputies learned Southern had been shot and friends were taking him to Abbeville General Hospital.
Southern died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Detectives said Broussard and Southern apparently had an argument and that during the argument Broussard shot Southern several times with a handgun.
Anyone with information about his location can call the IPSO at 369-3711 or Iberia Crime Stoppers at 364-TIPS.
