On Saturday, January 5, 2019, Wendy Lee Bourque “Wendy Lou,” wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 61 years. Wendy will be forever remembered by her husband of almost 38 years, Clint Bourque Sr.; their two sons Clint Jr. (Cherie) and Matthew (Ashley); her grandaughters Ashlyn, Alyssa and Ariah; her brothers and sisters Peggy (Kevin) Thibodeaux, Edgar-Chris Leblanc, sister-in-law Robin-Bunny Leblanc, Gregg (Chevy Gosselin) Leblanc, Vicki (Maurice) Rodrigue, Eric (Cori) Leblanc and Errol (Katherine) Leblanc; her godchildren Nicole (Kevin) Broussard, Mindy Leblanc and Brock Rodrigue; her uncle Arthur-AJ Albert; her nieces and nephews, her in-laws Noeline Pichoff, Brenda (Samuel) Garb, Charles Bourque, Danny (Judy) Bourque, Benny (Sue) Bourque and Glenn (Vickie) Bourque Sr.; and dear friends. 

Wendy will be welcomed and reunited in heaven with her parents, Silton and Merlene Leblanc Sr.; grandparents, Leonie and Sylvis Albert, Eli and Lovina Leblanc; brother Silton-Adam Leblanc Jr.; aunts, uncles, in-laws Barnabe and Sidonia Bourque, Janice Bourque, Eugene Bourque, Larry Pichoff and Druella Bourque. 

Wendy lived a joyful life and was loved by many. She enjoyed the simple things in life; sewing, going to the camp on the levee, holidays and most of all being with and spending time with her family. Wendy worked at Jeanerette Mills for 28 years until she retired where she spent the rest of her days relaxing and watching her grandkids grow up. 

Services in memory of Wendy will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by Mass at the Church of St. Nicholas, 7809 Weeks Island Road, in Lydia. Rosary will be prayed and lead by Mrs. Kate Hebert at 10 a.m. Readings will be presented by Nicole (Erin Broussard) Broussard, Mrs. Kate Hebert and Brandi Zacharie. Offerings will be presented by Ashlyn Bourque, Alyssa Bourque and Ariah Bourque.

Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Cemetery, 7605 E. Old Spanish Trail, in Jeanerette.

Pallbearers are Clint Bourque Jr., Matthew Bourque, Gregg Leblanc, Eric Leblanc, Errol Leblanc and Brock Rodrigue.

Honary Pallbearers are Hebert Rodrigue, Glenn Bourque, Kevin Thibodeaux, Maurice Rodrigue and Joey Bonin. 

The family of Wendy Bourque wish to express their appreciation to Mr. Jacque and Mrs. Kate Hebert, Tyra Riley, Kelli Peltier, Streamline Industires, Hospice of Acadiana, Home Health of Crowley, Dr. Steven Boudreaux, Dr. Jason Cormier, Dr. Jason Shumadine, Dr. Elpidia Balbastro, Dr. David Dawes and Our Lady of Lordes Hospital and staff.
