Travis Fontenette

A Home-going celebration will be held for Mr. Travis Ja’von Fontenette, 33, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Pastor Emma F. Leon, officiating.

He will await the resurrection in Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home at 9 a.m. until the time of the service. A moment for tributes and expressions will begin at 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

A resident of Port Arthur, Texas he passed at 9:24 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Travis who loved to sing was a 2003 graduate of Memorial High School. He attended Lamar State College for two years. He followed in his dad’s footsteps becoming a Scaffold Builder for 12 years and ultimately became a Scaffold Supervisor.

He leaves in God’s care, his parents, Larry James Fontenette Sr. and Shelia Charles Fontenette of Port Arthur, Texas; one daughter My’Keiashia My’Kai Bartley of Houston, Texas; four brothers Alvin Shawn Lively of Jeanerette, Larry James Fontenette Jr. and Derrick DeWayne Fontenette of Port Arthur, Texas and Bronson Williams of St. Martinville; maternal grandmother, Viola Charles of Jeanerette; niece Keandra Lively; godmother Louise G. Tillman of Jeanerette; three god-children Kayla, Cameron and Kerstin; and a host of nieces, nephews, god-sisters, god-brothers, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother Kendric Kenyon “K-Live” Lively; maternal grandfather, Albert Charles Jr.; and his paternal grandparents Steve Fontenette Sr. and Rosa Lee Fontenette.

Active Pallbearers are Jarmall Mitchell, Carey Ivory, Demarcus Stallworth, Dureil Charles, Josh Wilson and Ronnie Green Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Rener Jr., Ellis Castille, Starley Haggray, Darnell Charles, Rogernick Harding, Rowan Mark, Roosevelt Johnson, Paul Colar, Cornell deClouet and the Time Street Gang.
