IPSB to vote on tax renewal election tonight

Security on the agenda for IPSB members

The Iberia Parish School Board will vote on a special resolution calling an election for a tax renewal at tonight’s regular meeting.

The resolution will be introduced by Board President Dana Dugas, and will authorize the renewal of the tax, make an application to the State Bond Commission and provide for other related matters.

Wanda Milliman will address the board to present the Red for Ed Campaign. 

The initiative is meant to stand up for public educators in the classroom.

The board also will vote on bond construction payments for Belle Place Elementary School for Architects Design Studio and Southern Constructors LLC.

Board member Nursey McNeal will introduce a resolution declaring the month of February as Black History Month in Iberia Parish Schools as well.

The meeting takes place 5:30 p.m. today at the school board’s administrative office located at 1500 Jane St.
