About the Couple: Burt Cestia III is the owner of Cestia Wealth Management, a full service financial planning firm, and Angela is the Office Manager. The Cestias have been married for 16 years. They were living in St. Louis when they got married, but soon decided to return to their hometown of New Iberia.

Moving to Main: Growing up in New Iberia, Angela always thought the homes on Main Street were beautiful, but never imagined she would one day live there. Until…they found the perfect home.

The Home: The Dauterive Family built the house in 1924. The Cestias are only the fourth family to live there in almost 100 years. They purchased the home from Bishop Henton’s estate in August of 2006 and moved in January of 2007. The home wasn’t exactly move in ready.

The Renovations: Angela and Burt wanted to update the home while still honoring its original architectural integrity, which takes time. Twelve years of time to be exact. They just began a second round of renovations on the master bedroom and kitchen. So far, the work that has been completed includes: a new roof, leveling the house, tree and shrub removal, refinishing and replacing floors, interior and exterior paint, complete kitchen and laundry renovations, low ceiling removal and an addition  was made that brought the home closer to its original architecture.

Playing Favorites: Angela’s favorite room in the house is the master bedroom, with tall ceilings and big windows that let in beautiful natural light and offer views of several oak trees. Burt’s favorite area is the kitchen.

What They Love About Main: Angela, “We love the energy Main Street has to offer.  We also love the convenience of being in the middle of town.  It is great to be able to walk to all of the actives that downtown New Iberia has to offer. We are in the perfect spot for the parades!”
