JEANERETTE — Funeral services celebrating the life of Lisa Marcotte Bourliea, a 29-year resident of Jeanerette, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton. Rev. Dr. Chris Holloway will conduct the services.

Following the service she will be laid to rest in Beau Pré Cemetery in Jeanerette.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 9:30 a.m. until time of dismissal at 1:30 p.m., at which time the procession will leave the funeral home for the church.

Lisa was born in Franklin on February 4, 1958, and was called home to her heavenly reward at the age of 61 on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in the comfort and tranquility of her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was the oldest of four children born to the late Jerry Jesse Marcotte Sr. and Alberta Bailey Marcotte and spent her early years in Charenton where she was raised. On October 14, 1978, at First Baptist Church in Franklin, at the age of 20, she married Herbert Bourliea Jr., the love of her life. She had a deep love for the Lord and was a faithful Christian. Lisa was the epitome of a homemaker and took great pride in keeping her home and yard immaculate. Some of her favorite pastimes included going shopping, going on cruises and vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains. But these paled in comparison to her love for the Lord and her family, which she considered her greatest blessing in life.

Her beautiful memory will forever live in the hearts of her husband of 40 years, Herbert J. Bourliea Jr.; one son, Bret James Bourliea and his wife, Amanda; her mother, Alberta Bailey Marcotte; three siblings, Jerry J. Marcotte Jr. and his wife, Chris, Donna Romero and her husband, Wayne, and Vicki Rogers and her husband, Brent; her mother-in-law, Theresa Benoit Bourliea; two brothers-in-law, Mark Bourliea and Jody Bourliea and his wife, Karen; one sister-in-law, Lisa B. Sellers and her husband, John; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Jesse Marcotte Sr.; and her father-in-law, Herbert J. Bourliea Sr.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jerry J. Marcotte Jr., Jody Bourliea, Wayne Romero, Patrick Marcotte, Ralph Gutierrez and Harold Kelly.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Bret J. Bourliea.
