Gloria Thibodeaux

A Home-going celebration will be held for Mrs. Gloria Jean Thibodeaux, the former, Gloria Jean Bracy, 70, at Noon on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in New Iberia, with Rev. Allen Randle, Sr. Pastor, officiating.

She will await the resurrection in St. Matthew Cemetery in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at the church 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

A resident of New Iberia, she passed at 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Iberia Medical Center.

Gloria accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church where she was a former Usher.

She leaves in God’s care to cherish her fond memory, one son Robert Earl Thibodeaux Jr. (Pamela Davis); two daughters Grisolia T. Obey (George Sr.) and Kizzy T. Joseph (Lenard) all of New Iberia; one granddaughter whom she reared Tlajahawaun Thibodeaux of New Iberia; four brothers Omar Bracy (Rosalind), Horatio Bracy (Reina) of Los Angeles, California, Ricardo Bracy of Chicago, Illinois and Ciriel “Donito” Bracy Jr. of Panama City, Pennsylvania; three sisters Vilma Clay of Monterey, California, Norma Broome of Chicago, Illinois and Argeli Johnson of Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives church family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ciriel Bracy Sr. and Elitha Gibson Bracy; sister Patricia Morgan; grandparents, Rosa Gibson and Fitz Albert Gibson and Inez Johnson.

Active Pallbearers are Cleveland Broome, Kawaski Jenkins, Anthony Thibodeaux, Ronald Thompson, Willie Ware and Victor Cola.

Honorary Pallbearers are Horacio Bracy, Omar Bracy, Ricardo Bracy, George Obey Sr., George Obey Jr., Lennard Joseph, Ciriel Bracy Jr., Robert Gregoire Jr., Paul Richard Jr. and Cornell Filer.
