The annual Symphony Sunday in the Park is scheduled this weekend by the Iberia Cultural Resources Association, featuring the Acadiana Symphony exploring pop favorites from Broadway, big band and jazz selections at City Park.

The Iberia Cultural Resource Association’s annual Symphony Sunday in the Park concert is being moved indoors.

Association President Cathy Indest said the concert will be moved from City Park to the park’s Sugar Cane Festival Building.

“The concert will still be a fabulous concert, but it will be indoors at the Sugar Cane Festival building because of the rain prediction,” Indest said. “We certainly hope that people will still come and hear this glorious music! We also hope that the symphony patrons that have been invited to the party afterward will still come and enjoy some delicious delicacies and have a glass of wine to celebrate with us!”

The event, the third of the Iberia Cultural Resources Association’s yearly four-concert slate with the Acadiana Symphony, features the orchestra exploring pop favorites from Broadway, big band, and jazz selections in an al fresco setting among the oaks of New Iberia’s City Park.

This year marks the 13th year for the outdoor concert, and promises to bring more fun for families and music lovers of all ages. The ASO’s performance will begin at 3 p.m.
