LETTES TO EDITOR: Books Along the Teche Literary Festival was a great experience

This past weekend The Books Along the Teche Literary Festival celebrated its fourth and most successful “showing” yet to many locals, hundreds of people from across the United States and several from other countries. With Thursday’s storms, the leadership, staff and volunteers from the Bayou Teche Museum, the Iberia Cultural Resources Association and the Shadows-on-the-Teche and the numerous sponsors in Acadiana held their collective breath knowing they had promised a “good time” to the many visitors and locals headed this way. Prayers for better weather were heard and answered — the show was able to go on — to the delight of all. Many of the attendees, before they left town Sunday, were already planning a return trip next year.

These new found fans of Acadiana — can’t pronounce these words that described their experience but it is an experience they’ll never forget. Remember our roots here on the Bayou — Joie de vivre (the joy of life) — Laissez les bons temps rouler (Let the good times roll) — Lagniappe (A little something extra). Thanks to all who helped, all attendees and even those who were here in spirit only! It was a great experience!

I encourage all here in Cajun Country to mark your calendars for April 3-5, 2020. You’ll enjoy the experience as well. I guarantee!
