A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mr. Clarence Raymond Sr., 94, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Saint Edward Roman Catholic church with Fr. Thomas Vu. as celebrant.

Entombment will follow in Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church Mausoleum in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home at 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary recited at 9 a.m. followed by a moment for tributes.

A native and resident of New Iberia, he passed at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Belle Teche Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Raymond was a member of Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Brother Social Club, which included all the Raymond brothers, where they assisted the needy during the holidays and other needing times as well.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Alfred “Rodee” Raymond (Delores) of New Iberia; two daughters, Joann Raymond Jacob of New Iberia and Lydia Olivier (Murphy Sr) of Loreauville; one brother, James Raymond (Wanda) of New Iberia; two sisters, Anita R. Valsin (Octave) of St. Martinville and Mary Lee Raymond of New Iberia; son-in-law Eric Jacob Sr. of New Iberia; three sisters-in-law, Joann Raymond, Virginia Raymond and Stella George all New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Corey Raymond, Jerome Jacob Jr., Danielle Gordon, Jordan Jacob, Murphy Olivier Jr., Eric Jacob Jr. and Jesse Jacob; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice D. Raymond; one son, Clarence Raymond Jr., one daughter, Cecile Vicky Raymond Jacob; parents, Junius Raymond Sr. and Anita G. Raymond; six brothers, Paul George, John Raymond, Junius Raymond Jr., Albert Raymond Sr., Robet Raymond and Edward Raymond Sr.; two sisters, Celina Cormier and Florence Lewis; one son-in-law, Jerome H. Jacob Sr.; and one goddaughter Delores D. Collins.

Active Pallbearers are Corey Raymond, Jerome Jacob Jr., Jordan Jacob, Jesse Jacob, Murphy Olivier Jr. and Eric Leo Jacob Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Cody Raymond, Jory Collins, Christopher Raymond, Dylan Gordon, Kyzin Jacob, Zerick Hill, Adrian Gordan, Eric Leo Jacob Sr. and Murphy Olivier Sr.
