A Home-going celebration will be held for Mrs. Ollie Mae Garrett, 86, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Rochester, officiating.
Entombment will be at Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until time of service.
A native and resident of New Iberia, she passed at 3:14 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at her residence.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Augustine Wilson of New Iberia, Mildred (Jerry Sr.) Narcisse of New Iberia and Nancy (Leonard) Berry of New Iberia; one son, Herbert (Petra) Garrett of Broussard; one stepson, Michael Batiste of Houston, Texas; one sister, Leola Joseph Lewis of New Iberia; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Garrett; her parents, Julius Raymond and Julia Feast Williams; two daughters, Jacqueline Porter and Sarah Decuir Ledet; and two great-grandchildren, Ta’Tiana Ledet and Jacoby Wilson.
Active Pallbearers will be Warren Lewis, Anthony Placide, Jerry Narcisse Jr., Dennis Decuir, Wendell Garrett and Courtney Porter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Lewis, Michael Batiste, Javiel Wilson, Ken Zeno, Jashawn Noel, Alfred Phillips, Rickie Daniels and Tre’Michael Spencer.
