Through hands-on activities, demonstrations and programs by master artisans, campers will explore the National Park Service, become a Junior Ranger, learn to make old-time toys, take a hike at Indian Bayou, make coiled clay pots as the American Indians did, experience Cajun and zydeco music, explore folklore through storytelling and investigate south Louisiana’s rich and varied cultures. Acting Up (in Acadiana), a small professional theatre company at the Acadiana Center for the Arts presents its annual Summer Youth Shakespeare Ensemble. The 16-day intensive performing arts camp runs July 13-28, with performances of “Two Gentlemen of Verona” on July 25, 26, 27 and 28. Students ages 10-Senior in high school play all the roles in this love filled comedy.
