JEANERETTE — “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:10, 31.
A Home–going celebration will be held for Ms. Lillian Dianna R. Robinson, 78, the former Lillian Dianna Richard, on Monday, April 15, 2019, at 1 p.m. at The West Saint Mary Civic Center, 1498 Highway 318, Jeanerette, LA., with Rev. Terry Lee Joseph, officiating.
She will await the resurrection at The Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.
A musical will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday at The Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church, 510 Hubertville Road in Jeanerette, with visitation to begin immediately afterwards. Visitation will resume on Monday, April 15, 2019, at The West Saint Mary Civic Center, 1498 Highway 318 in Jeanerette, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
A native of Sorrel and resident of Jeanerette, she passed at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was a member of The Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Terry Gray Sr., where she was a faithful member of the Senior Choir and served as Mistress of Ceremony on many occasions. A retired business woman and entrepreneur of Lil’s Kitchen in Jeanerette. She has been recognized for her contributions toward Jeanerette and surrounding areas for thirty five plus years.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Leona (Leon) Silas of Jeanerette, Leslie Green of Jeanerette, Lori (Emmett) Broussard Sr. of New Iberia, Celestine Robinson of Jeanerette and Juanita Gabriel of Jeanerette; four sons, Wilford (Tenetta) Robinson Jr. of Jeanerette, Darren Robinson of Jeanerette, James Robinson of Jeanerette and Steve Robinson of Dallas; another son she loved as her own, Johnny Sam of Jeanerette; a daughter she reared as her own, Ashley Duhe Allain (Ray Jr.) of Naples, Florida; her longtime companion Harrison Joseph Mallery of Jeanerette; she also reared Jeanne Wattigny Judice, Celia Wattigny Frankel and Caroline Wattigny, all of New Iberia; thirty-four grandchildren, seventy three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Delores (Delaney) Key Sr., of Jeanerette, Laura Washington of Jonesboro, Georgia, Linda Richard of Little Elm, Texas, Rev. Almeta Faye Keyes of Bowie, Maryland and Gail Pastor (David) Mouton Sr. of Warner Robbins, Georgia; two brothers Donald (Bessie) Richard Sr. of Bonaire, Georgia and Oliver (Thelma) Tallmore Sr. of Jeanerette; eleven godchildren, Roy Key, Tracie Wyche, Michael Ray Sereal, John Thomas, Harry Johnlouis III, Darlene Johnlouis, Charlene Johnlouis, Shebaniah Proctor, Ernest Thomas, Aubrey Hawkins and Kylen Charles; three close friends, Idella Lewis of Baldwin, Lillie Mae Sereal of Jeanerette and Mary Clavelle of Franklin; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Richard Sr. and Almeta Richard; the fathers of her children, Leon Allen Green Sr. and Wilford Robinson Sr.; one son, Leon Allen Green Jr.; two brothers, William Richard Jr. and Royal Richard; two sisters, Rebecca R. Proctor and Rachel Olsum; two sons-in-law, Rufus Frank and Paul Gabriel Sr.; one grandchild, The’acie Broussard; one great-grandchild ,Payton Paul; and one close friend, Irene Nerve.
Active Pallbearers will be Gerard Green, Larry Williams Jr., Earl Ray Paul Jr., Joshua Jermaine Hopes, Brandon Paul and Wilford Tyrae Lively.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wilford Robinson Jr., Darren Robinson, James Robinson, Steve Robinson, Johnny Sam, Emmett Broussard Sr., Leon Silas, Whitney Thompson, Delaney Key Jr., Ernest Stewart, John Butler Jr., Gerard Wattigny, Dr. Timothy Viator, Steve Sterling and Chucky Verdun Sr.
