A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Carmen Champagne White, 63, who passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Rev. Keith Landry will be the celebrant.

Holy Scripture will be read by Monique Irby. Gift bearers are Donna Peltier and Andrea Ducharme. Thomas Irby will be Altar Server.

Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

A Rosary, led by Monique Irby, will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A lifelong area resident, Carmen Faye Champagne White was born on March 5, 1956, to the late Easton and Mable Stoute Champagne. She loved gardening, was a wonderful homemaker and also worked at Ace Uniforms and Holiday Sporting Goods. Carmen was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed.

Mrs. White is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, David White of New Iberia; daughter Chasity Hooks of Lafayette; sister Christine Pitre of Zachary; brother Gerald Champagne and wife Myrtle of Opelousas; brother-in-law Carlton McDaniel of Ville Platte; the Irby Family: Joel, Monique and Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Euline Champagne, Delores Champagne, Geraldine Deville, Eula Mae McDaniel and Mary Ann Doyle; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Dercy and George Sieber.

Pallbearers will be Dean White, Paton White, Ronald Peltier, Michael White, Ricky Redmon and Ike Doyle.

Honorary Pallbearer is Thomas Irby.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for excellent care to Hope Hospice, Acadiana Cancer Center, Miles Perret Cancer Center, Lydia Cancer Center, Oncologics Center and NSI Home Health.
