Cornell was born February 28, 1946, in Jeanerette to the late Dalton J. Bonin Sr. and the late Therez Landry Bonin and was one of ten children. He passed away peacefully Saturday, April 13, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 73.

Bugga, as he was affectionately known, was a retired wireline supervisor, having worked with various companies in the Acadiana area including Arrow Electric, Dialog, Wilson and HomCo. Outside of his work, he enjoyed many pastimes. Those who really knew him knew that the outdoors was where he was at peace. Whether playing golf with his buddies, doing woodwork and construction or hosting his family and treating them to the best BBQ, he was happy. Bugga was also an avid LSU football fan and Saints fan. But above all, he was dedicated to the love and care of his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him and he will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 54 years, Jo Ann Langlinais Bonin; his children, Rodney J. Bonin and wife, Gail, and Billie Jo Bonin Seaux and husband, Kevin; four grandchildren, Brooke Pham, Chase Bonin, Hunter Bonin and Stevie Seaux; two step-grandchildren, Steve Berzas and Amber Berzas; his great-grandchildren, Vivian Bonin and Julie Ramsey; and his brother and sisters, William H. Bonin, Carolyn Doré and husband, AJ, Suzanne Walker and Kathleen Patin and husband, Robert.

Along with his parents, Bugga was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Dalton “Toe” Bonin, Raymond Bonin, Farrel “Shorty” Bonin, Maxine Begnaud and Geraldine Romero.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Rodney Bonin, Kevin Seaux, Chase and Hunter Bonin, AJ and Shawn Doré and Kim Langlinais.
