Abbeville man arrested for home invasion, killing in Cade

ST. MARTINVILLE — Dequincy Jamel Lewis, 27, of Abbeville, was arrested Thursday following an investigation into an April home invasion and homicide in Cade.
Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force, Louisiana Probation and Parole and the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Lewis Thursday morning in connection with the incident, according to a prepare statement from the SMSO.
The victim, Justin Primeaux, 23, was shot and subsequently died following a home invasion on Vieux Jacquet Road in Cade on April 20.
Lewis was initially booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center and shortly thereafter was taken to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center, where he was booked in on one count of first degree murder.
No bond had been set.
