NIPD, LPD nab suspect in May 3 carwash shooting

A New Iberia man was arrested for child pornography after a search by the New Iberia Police Department Friday.

According to a prepared statement, NIPS officers conducted an unrelated investigation and discovered child pornography on a cell phone belonging to Lance Robert Lemaire, 38.

That led investigators to obtain arrest warrants for Lemaire on 25 counts of pornography involving Juveniles. It was also discovered Lemaire is a registered sex offender.

Lemaire was arrested without incident and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. Lemaire is being held on a $250,000 bond.
