ST. MARTINVILLE — A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Mallalieu United Methodist Church in St. Martinville for Mary Joyce Savoy, 82, who passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Pastor Valla Johnson will officiate at the funeral service.

Interment will follow at House of Love Cemetery in St. Martinville.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Mary enjoyed shopping, cooking, listening to her music and having house parties so she could invite everyone to enjoy her cooking.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harold Whitney Savoy Sr. of St. Martinville; sons Harold Savoy Jr. of New Iberia, John Savoy and wife Sonya of St. Martinville and Elliot Savoy and wife Rita of Rialto, California; daughters Carlette S. Kately and husband Cassidy and Claudette S. Robertson and husband Glen, all of St. Martinville; brother Clarence Martin and wife Barbara of Lafayette; sister Hazel Mouton of Maryland; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Martin; brothers Lawrence Martin and Albert Davis; and sisters Shirley Lewis, Betty Ann Martin, Elouise Williams, Rita Mae Mitchell and Annabelle Houston.

Pallbearers will be Tre’mon Savoy, Kevin Martin, Gerard Williams, MacRoyce Williams, Corderro Morris and Ransom Broussard.

Pellerin Funeral Homes, 332-2111, is in charge of arrangements.
