Mrs. Reid Andrew Broussard

Katherine Elizabeth Viator and Reid Andrew Broussard were married Monday, June 24, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church near the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy. The bride is the daughter of Deacon Durk and Heidi Gielen Viator of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Allen Broussard of New Iberia, Tammy Touchet of New Iberia.

Grandparents of the bride are Malcolm and Linda Bonin Viator of New Iberia, Peggy Angelle Gielen of Lafayette and the late John Dan Gielen formerly of Crowley. Grandparents of the groom are the late Robert and Patricia De la Houssaye Broussard formerly of New Iberia and Girlie and Gernice Boudreaux Touchet formerly of Avery Island.

The Rev. Mark G. Derise, longtime family friend, officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a sweetheart neckline and fit and flare silhouette gown enhanced by cotton lace appliqués throughout. A full illusion backline boasted of a covered button closer. A horsehair hem created wonderful body to the semi cathedral train. For her headpiece she wore a cathedral length veil, made by the mother of the bride, accessorized with a gold and rhinestone floral hair piece. She carried White roses, white peonies, and eucalyptus greenery

Serving as matron of honor was Regan Lormand Viator, sister of the bride and Kirsten Kidder was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Anne-Claire Viator, sister of the bride. Serving as best man was Drake Hebert. Groomsmen were Keagan Bourque and Joshua Viator, brother of the bride.

A reception was held for family and friends at The Orazio Restaurant in Rome, Italy. After the wedding the bride and groom traveled down to the Amalfi Coast for a honeymoon.
