LOREAUVILLE — A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville for Tracey Defelice Guilbeaux, 50, who passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at her Cade home surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Rev. Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday. A Rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
A lifelong area resident, Tracey Defelice Guilbeaux was born in New Orleans on December 22, 1968, to James “Jimmy” and Catherine Davis Defelice. She was a 1987 graduate of New Iberia Senior High and was the Office Manager for Integrity Rentals, a job which she loved and excelled at. Tracey loved the outdoors, especially camping, Jeep riding, fishing, golfing and swimming. She was a great cook and baker and had a fierce love for her grandchildren. She also loved Classic Country Saturday Night and sipping a cold one! Tracey was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always there for anybody at any time, no matter what. She had a contagious smile, a spirit like no other and her heart was larger than life. She will be deeply missed.
Tracey is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Carroll Wayne Guilbeaux; sons Kyle James Guilbeaux and wife, Amanda and Carroll Ray Guilbeaux and wife, Tiffany, all of Cade; parents Jimmy and Cathy Defelice of Loreauville; sister Shelley Defelice Romero and husband, John, of Loreauville; brother James Defelice and wife, Danielle, of Loreauville; and grandchildren Charlie Jane, Memphis James, Alison, Chelsey, Emily and Austyn (due in October).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Donald and Norma Jean Burke; paternal grandparents, I.J. “Iggy” Defelice and Virginia “Tootie” Defelice LeMaire; her in-laws John Carroll and Delores Guilbeaux and John “Curley” and Virginia “Dolly” Delahoussaye; and her godparents Eileen and Ronald “Mousey” Derouen.
Pallbearers will be James Defelice, Brayton Eskine, Bruno Lenoir, Troy A. Romero, Chris Bigler, Cory Fremin, Don Defelice and Billy Davis.
