St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the shooting death of a Baldwin woman early Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to a call at 12:31 a.m., saying that a woman had been shot and transported to a hospital where she later died.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide.
