NISH runners finish 1st, 2nd at STM

New Iberia Senior High School’s cross country girls' team competed in the St. Thomas More cross country meet on Saturday.

LAFAYETTE — The New Iberia Senior High cross country team competed in the St. Thomas More meet on Saturday, with Hunter Landry placing first and Aden Romero second overall.

Landry came within six seconds of his personal record in the team’s first meet, running the event in 18:20.

Romero set a new personal record of 18:38.

Top finishers for the NISH girls were Lyla Boatman in 23:56 and Kayla Trosclair in 23:19.

New Iberia runs in the Westgate meet this weekend at the Louisiana PepperPlex.
