The end has come for Neptune the Century Plant and his 30-foot flower stalk. Over the weekend, the stalk was sawed off, having started leaning over Anne and Curtis Darrah’s house. Drooping leaves were also removed, and soon, the remains of the plant itself will be cut out and hauled away. Neptune, we hardly knew ye!
