One evacuated by air after four-wheeler crash near Texaco and Daspit

Three juveniles were riding a four-wheeler along Daspit Road when they were involved in a crash with a car, according to New Iberia Fire Department officials 

Fire Chief Gordon Copell said his department received the call regarding the crash near Texaco Street and Daspit Road around 7:20 p.m. One victim, a male, was transported from the Daspit Elementary School parking lot via Airmed to a local hospital. The other two victims were evaluated by ambulance personnel, but were conscious and conversing after the crash.

New Iberia Police said two victims were not seriously injured. It is not known if the drivers of either vehicle were cited. An NIPD spokeswoman said officers at the scene did not suspect that the driver of the car was impaired at the time of the crash.
