St. Nicholas Church Fest — The St. Nicholas Church Fest will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, returning this year with family fun for the whole family, including a jambalaya dinner from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for $8 per ticket. Family games, crafts, cake walk, bounce house, 50-50 raffle and more. All are welcome. The event will take place on the church grounds at 7801 Weeks Island Road, Lydia.

Mass for the Unclaimed — St. Peter’s Catholic Church will hold a funeral Mass Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for individuals whose bodies have been in the parish morgue for the past year and were unclaimed by families. This Mass is an act of charity for those who were never given burial. The public is invited to exercise one of the Corporal Works of Mercy which is to bury the dead and one of the Spiritual Works of Mercy which is to pray for the living and the dead.
