Catholic High ladies advance to state tournament with win

The Catholic High School volleyball team advanced to the state tournament this coming week at the Cajundome in Lafayette with a 3-2 win over Pope John Paul II in a regional playoff game Friday afternoon at Catholic High.
The Lady Panthers won 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 21-25, 15-13 to advance to a quarterfinal match with Dunham on Thursday.
Holly Hebert had 16 kills, nine digs, one ace and one assist and Hana Maturin had 14 kills, four blocks, four digs and one assist to lead the Lady Panthers.
Madison Broussard added six kills, five blocks and four digs.
Saniya Raheem had seven kills, a block, three aces and five digs; Laura Lipari had 41 assists, one ace and 10 digs; and Madilyn Clause had five aces and six digs.
Catholic High is the No. 6 seed in the Division III playoffs.
PJP was seeded 11th.
