St. Martinville council to approve drainage project in Magnolia Park area

ST. MARTINVILLE — The St. Martinville City Council will vote to approve a drainage project in the Magnolia Park area at Monday’s meeting.

According to the agenda, Dale Dubroc with Dubroc Engineering Inc. will present a proposal for drainage improvements for the North Main Street, Durand Subdivision and Magnolia Park areas during the meeting.

Noell Brotherton with Big Brothers and Big Sisters will also address the council to discuss expanding visibility and reach into the outer reaches of Acadiana at the meeting.

In other business, the council will consider a resolution requesting the St. Martin parish Council to create a consolidated waterworks district.

A report on the status of redistricting will be heard, and necessary will be taken if required as well.

City Attorney Allan Durande will discuss lots on Berard Street, which will possibly lead into an executive session.

Councilman Mike Fuselier will bring up a discussion on the condition of buildings on Main Street in the historic district, and Councilman Craig Prosper will discuss installing additional security cameras due to vandalism.

The meeting takes place at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Martinville City Hall.
