Let me begin by saying,i’m a newspaper junkie. There’s nothing like holding a newspaper and flipping the pages to read a well written article. Unfortunately, newspapers are closing at an alarming rate, replaced by the internet.

As local readers know, The Daily Iberian has been affected. What used to be a true daily newspaper,has been reduced to three days a week. It would be a great loss to the city of New Iberia,and to the loyal readers who look forward to good journalism.

I’ve been reading The Daily Iberian for over 60 years,and it’s up to us to get the younger generation interested in continuing to support the newspaper.

If we can’t,the newspaper will close just like 300 others did in the last two years.
