We’re celebrating the holiday season with a sweet, gooey monkey bread recipe from Megan Mendoza, owner and culinary talent behind Love, Megan. Whether you need a Christmas morning breakfast or a holiday dinner dessert idea, this simple, 30-minute dish is sure to win everybody over!
INGREDIENTS
– 2 cans packaged cinnamon rolls (Megan prefers buttercream icing)
– Icing from both packages
– 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1/3 cup butter (melted)
– 2 Tbsp Cajun Power Sweet Treat (or 2 Tbsp cinnamon-sugar mixture)
STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS
Step 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and thoroughly grease a Bundt pan. Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 equal pieces and coat well with Sweet Treat (or cinnamon-sugar mixture). In a separate medium bowl, combine melted butter, vanilla extract and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
Step 2. Place half of the cinnamon roll pieces into the well greased Bundt pan and arrange to fill in any gaps. Pour half of the caramel mixture on top. Repeat this process with the remainder of the cinnamon roll and caramel mixture.
Step 3. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes. Remove and let stand for 10 minutes, then lay a plate/platter on top of the bundt pan and flip everything over. Your monkey bread should easily slide out onto the plate. Heat the packaged icing for 10 seconds in the microwave and pour most of it over the monkey bread. Cut and serve with a drizzle of the leftover icing on top of each serving. How sweet it is!
