LOREAUVILLE — Funeral services will be conducted for Leroy J. Van Brocklin, 88, at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Deacon Chris Doumit officiating. Burial will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville on Monday, February 28, 2022, and a Rosary will be prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group at 10:15 a.m..
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Van Brocklin passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Van Brocklin was a retired sugar cane farmer. After his retirement he went to work for oil related companies.
He enjoyed watching his cowboy movies and listening to country music. As momma said everything in the movies would just fall without even being touched, but it passed his time. He enjoyed meeting with a circle of friends drinking coffee every morning and afternoon trying to solve the problems of the world.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Loretta Judice Van Brocklin of New Iberia; one son, Kurt Van Brocklin; and one daughter, Penni Van Brocklin both of New Iberia.
Mr. Van Brocklin was preceded in death by his parents Percy (Pete) Van Brocklin Sr. and Palmire Trahan Van Brocklin; one brother, Percy Van Brocklin Jr.; and one sister, Delores Van Brocklin Broussard.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
