The Episcopal School of Acadiana boys basketball team is headed back to Marsh Madness, making it to the Division V semifinals for the third time in three years.

ESA entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed following a fantastic 24-11 season. Following a first round bye, the Falcons defeated No. 6 seed Christ Episcopal School 46-40 in the quarterfinals.

Their opponent, No. 2 seed Jehovah-Jireh, finished their season with an 18-11 record. The two teams have met previously in the playoffs when, in 2020, Jehova-Jireh defeated the Falcons 65-38.

The Falcons have never made it to the Division V finals, despite this being the program’s sixth semifinals appearance. ESA will look to not only make history, but slay two familiar foes should they advance to face No. 1 seed Family Christian.

It won’t be the first time the Falcons have faced Jehova-Jireh this season. The two teams played an exciting season opener at ESA, where the Falcons were able to pick up a 52-48 win in overtime.

ESA’s semifinal game will begin at Noon on Wednesday at the Cajundome in Lafayette. The winner will progress to the Division V final on Saturday.
