The Iberia Parish Council will vote on several resolutions relating to Iberia Parish Fire Protection No. 1 at Wednesday’s meeting.

The council will vote to approve $7,000 in carryover funding from last fiscal year in order to supply the Rynella Fire Station with a new air conditioning unit and heating unit, according to the agenda. The council will also be voting on the approval of a $1 million bond that IPFD will be responsible for.

In other business, the council will vote on a resolution amending the 2022 general and road fund fund budgets to appropriate $102,720 in funding for repairs to the Vida Shaw Road bridge. Residents in the area have been attending council meetings in recent months to voice concerns about the state of the bridge and the repairs it needs.

A resolution amending the 2022 Sewerage District No. 1 fund budget in the amount of $370,788 to correct carryover funding for a levee reconstruction project at Plant 3 is on the agenda as well.

The meeting takes place 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
