Two men were found dead from suspected overdoses Monday night, according to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office. 

According to a prepared statement, IPSO deputies responded at approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday to a complaint of two men found unresponsive under an elevated home located in the 3600 block of Effie Lane. The men were later identified as Brandon Guillory, 42, and Christopher Perron, 43, both from Coteau. 

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the homeowner who had hired the two men to do plumbing work on the residence.  Attempts to administer CPR were made by IPSO deputies and Acadian Ambulance medics to no avail.  

Through investigation of the crime scene, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered, according to the statement.

The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office arrived on scene, and it was determined the cause of death appeared to be a suspected overdose pending autopsy and toxicology report.
