LAKE CHARLES — The annual McNeese Women’s Soccer 100 hundreds online fundraiser went live on Monday, July 18. Head Coach Drew Fitzgerald and his team are asking 100 donors to give 100 dollars, raising $10,000 for the program.

The money raised will be dedicated to five categories of needs including travel, nutrition, facility upgrades, player experience and equipment/apparel.

Fitzgerald and his team will pos videos on the McNeese Soccer social media pages every day until August 13. The posts will highlight Cowgirl players sharing experiences, needs and matching donors committed to the campaign.

One of the week’s videos will be a preseason community service competition. The donors will get the chance to vote with their donation for the community service project the Cowgirls will complete during their preseason.

Last season, the Cowgirls posted an overall record of 13-5-2, tying the program’s all-time win mark, and a conference record of 9-2-1.

The Cowgirls finished second in the league and advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament semi-finals.

McNeese will host UL-Lafayette in an exhibition game on Aug. 10 with its regular season and home opener set for Aug. 19 against Sam Houston.
