Iberia Parish Government announces the closure of Darnall Road from Autumn Lane to the railroad tracks on Darnall Road, on Monday starting at 8 a.m. and will remain closed until 3 p.m. the same day.

This will continue during the week days until further notice due to striping the roads.

Residents of Autumn Lane and La Belle Blvd. can use the Admiral Doyle Drive entrance to get to their homes. Iberia Parish Government apologizes for any inconveniences that this closure may cause.

The City of New Iberia is advising motorists that also beginning on Monday, construction will be starting for street improvements on Field St. from the concrete transition to South Hopkins St.

The street construction is anticipated to last 30 days, weather permitting. Residents and drivers should anticipate time delays. The streets at times will have loose gravel and oil on the roadway.

During construction it may be necessary to limit access and detour traffic. If a detour is necessary, detour signage will be in place.

The City of New Iberia appreciates your patience during construction. If possible, please avoid the construction areas. Drive with caution and be on The lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
