St. Martinville mom booked on three criminal charges for temper tantrum at high school

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance involving a parent in the front office at St. Martinville Senior High School.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that Horrisa White, 34, of St. Martinville, had made threatening comments following a discussion with school officials.

Following an investigation into the incident, a warrant for arrest was obtained Thursday afternoon. With the assistance of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, White was arrested in Lafayette and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. White was later transported to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center where she was booked on the following charges:

One Count of Disturbing the Peace (a Misdemeanor), one count of Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of a School (a Felony), and one count of Terrorizing (Felony).

At the time of the Sheriff’s Office news release, no bond had been set.

“The safety of the students and staff is of utmost importance, and threats of this nature will not be tolerated,” said Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux. “Those who choose to make such threats will be charged accordingly.”
