Westgate defeat Belle Chase, will face Slidell in second round

The Westgate High School football team defeated No. 23 seed Belle Chase on Friday by a score of 35-14.
The Tigers, who entered the playoffs as the No. 10 seed in Non-Select Division I, will face No. 7 seed Slidell in the second round of the LHSAA prep football playoffs. The Tigers will hit the road for the first time since their Week 9 loss to STM.
Sophomore QB Jaboree Antoine impressed again, going 10/13 for 136 yards plus an additional 78 yards rushing.
Senior LA-Tech commit Dedrick Latulas combined for 71 yards and 2 TDs from 4 carries and 5 receptions.
Rushing threats Davian Jackson (77 yards, 1 TD) and Tavias Gordon (88 yards, 1 TD) played an important role for the Tiger offense.
Antoine’s primary aerial target was Dedrick Latulas, with Amaaz Eugene (29 yards), Brailon Raymond (36 yards) and Zaid Landry (9 yards) also picking up important passing yards.
