The New Iberia Museum Foundation and First Horizon will be presenting its annual “A Night at the Museum” gala on Feb. 9.
The gala, which has a theme of “Party Like You Love the Museum!” will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Bayou Teche Museum, Sliman Theater, Donald “Doc” Voorhies Wing and a special tented area on Main Street.
The event will consist of an auction that includes a week in Florida at a 30A resort home, a year of monthly double-date dinners, dinner and overnight accommodations for 18 at the new Albania Plantation, a Chippendale mahogany 4-poster bedstead, fabulous art pieces by Jerome Weber and Adrian Fulton and a Cypremort Point fishing trip.
Auctioneer for the evening will be State Sen. Fred Mills with the help of Taylor Barras.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win a generator from Romero’s Power Sports as well.
Gala attendees will also get a sneak peek at an exhibit titled “New Iberia: Remember When – A Trip Down Memory Lane.”
Catering from many local restaurants as well as wine and beer will also be served during the event.
“2022 was a very productive year for the Bayou Teche Museum allowing us to make a lot of headway on transforming the adjacent Donald “Doc” Voorhies Wing and completing the design of the Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Exhibit,” according to a prepared statement. “The progress continues and we will maintain this growth and expansion thanks to the support of our generous community.”
