Saturday night New Iberia shooting now a homicide investigation

Saturday night’s shooting in New Iberia is being investigated as a homicide.
A 15-year-old male shot near the 600 block of Park Avenue has died from the multiple wounds.
Officers of the New Iberia Police Department responded to the scene in reference to an individual being shot. Upon arrival, officers located the young teen with multiple gunshot wounds. The juvenile was rushed to an area hospital by Acadian Ambulance.
On Sunday, the victim died of his injuries.
This incident is still under investigation and is being investigated as a homicide.
