Friends, community members and dignitaries gathered at the A&E Gallery in New Iberia in November for a first reading of author/illustrator Paul Schexnayder’s picture book biography entitled “From the Cane Fields to the Capitol: The Life and Story of Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.” The reading was followed by a roundtable discussion with Jimmy Clarke, Marie Centanni and Ceci Neustrom, sharing memories of Blanco’s faith, family and political career.
