Two shootings less than an hour apart

The Franklin Police Department responded to two separate incidents involving gunshots less than an hour from each other Wednesday night.
According to a prepared statement from interim Chief Tina Thibodeaux, FPD officers responded at approximately 8:08 p.m. to calls of shots fired in the area of Iberia and James streets. Officers arrived in the area and began investigation efforts.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that projectiles entered two vehicles.
At approximately 9:02 p.m., officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Maple Street. Upon arrival at that scene, officers learned that projectiles entered a residence in the area.
No one was injured at either incident, according to Thibodeaux. The investigation is ongoing.
The Franklin Police Department is asking that if anyone has any information or was a witness to either incident to call the department at 828-1716. Callers can remain anonymous.
