Suspect in Sunday’s Iberia Parish homicide now in custody

Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for Caiden Sheridan, a suspect in a Sunday evening homicide.

Following a request for help locating a suspect in a Sunday evening homicide, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office has the man in custody

Caiden Sheridan, 19 year old, male was arrested Monday evening by the Lake Charles Police Department. Sheridan was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Jail on a warrant issued by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheridan was released to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on one count of second-degree murder.

On Tuesday, the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Ashton Money of Broussard.

On Sunday, at approximately 7 p.m., deputies with the IPSO responded to 3400 block of General Patton Street, near Coteau, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival deputies located a deceased victim inside the residence. A witness reported observing Sheridan shoot the victim and flee the residence on foot.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office quickly produced an active arrest warrant for Sheridan for second-degree murder.
