Mount Calvary Baptist Church will be hosting a community fun day on Saturday to give back to the area.

The Rev. TJ Andrus said the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include an array of free items to be given away. Food, clothes and furniture will all be part of the giveaway, Andrus said.

Health professionals will also be present to provide free preventative screenings.

Games, fun jumps and other children’s activities will be on-site for children in the area as well.

Clothing for men, women, boys, girls and infants will be part of the giveaway as well as accessories, toys, cleaning products, toiletries, health screeening, free haircuts, and a Medicaid and Medicare seminar.

Musical chairs, jump rope, sack races, hula hoop, tug of war between the youth and the elderly will be part of the games that will take place on the church grounds.

Food trucks will be on-site serving hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, boudin, sodas, chips and water.

Those attending will have a chance to take home prizes from the games played.

Organizers for the event include Angels Serving With A Purpose, Virginia Valentine Founder, Mount Calvary Baptist Church and the Rev. TJ Andrus.
