Adaleigh tries various get-gumbo techniques, including learning to ask for it in French, but she will have to wait. This picture book for young readers is peppered with Cajun words, celebrates the Cajun culture and the importance of generational bonds.Young readers will learn that all the best things are worth waiting for as they are served a taste of South Louisiana culinary traditions with a side of Cajun French.
